Incitation première : la certitude, à tout prendre pas si éloignée de

Cahiers, que le cinéma, cet incomparable pourvoyeur de mythes
modernes, a manqué son rendez-vous avec l’histoire. « L’achèvement

2) Lock yourself in a room with your guitar, the CDs, and a CD player.
3) Learn the guitar parts.

Listen to them all the time, actively and passively---WITHOUT YOUR GUITAR!

Find the 10% of his work that really gets ya and listen just to those tunes

SING ALONG WITH HIS VOCAL AND/OR GUITAR PHRASES

SOON you will hear the music in your head without the CD, and you will know how the music goes, making it a LOT easier to:

A: figure out the fingerings
B: figure out how Patton was thinking as he IMPROVISED his music!

then it will be much easier to learn it.....easier than sitting there with guitar in hand in a lonely room, trying to learn it, without knowing how it goes first.

Music is more than a laundry list of notes or tasks.

Bob Dylan

For many critics, Dylan's mid-'60s trilogy of albums – Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde on Blonde – represents one of the great cultural achievements of the 20th century. In Mike Marqusee's words: "Between late 1964 and the summer of 1966, Dylan created a body of work that remains unique. Drawing on folk, blues, country, R&B, rock’n’roll, gospel, British beat, symbolist, modernist and Beat poetry, surrealism and Dada, advertising jargon and social commentary, Fellini and Mad magazine, he forged a coherent and original artistic voice and vision. The beauty of these albums retains the power to shock and console."

Lonnie Johnson

Away Down In The Alley is a blues guitar solo played in the key of D but with the guitar tuned D G D G B E. The playing combines blues left hand techniques with an intermittent fingerstyle approach. The end result is one of the most unique and powerful blues solos ever recorded.

Woke Up This Morning With Blues In My Fingers combines intriguing single–string blues runs with the use of diminished chords played in the key of D. This yields a unique blues guitar instrumental. Go Back To Your No Good Man is an example of how Lonnie accompanied a straight blues.

Lonnie Johnson played mostly in the key of D but he recorded one instrumental solo titled Blues In G which is presented in this lesson. This combines country blues licks with an uptown feel. We conclude the series with Stompin’ ‘Em Along Slow which is another killer blues instrumental in the key of D.

Peter Herbert Trio (Autriche)

Concert le mercredi 23 novembre 2005 20h, à l'Institut Hongrois.

Les trois enfants terribles de la scène autrichienne. Après le Duo Muthspiel en 2003 et le trio
Schwingenschlögl en 2004, le Forum culturel Autrichien nous propose cette année le Trio Peter
Hebert. Ce trio, qui allie un niveau de recherche musicale et une qualité d'expression hors pair,
est composé de musiciens enrichis par des collaborations avec des partenaires issus de traditions
culturelles différentes. Peter Herbert (contrebasse), Alex Deutsch (batterie) et Wolfgang Mitterer 
(l'enfant terrible du clavier et probablement le musicien techno le plus créatif de Vienne)
forment un trio dans lequel chacun admire et respecte l'autre, ce qui permet à cette constellation 
d'arriver à une harmonie qui promet d'être palpitante. C'est une soirée à la pointe de
l'avant-garde, une soirée de jazz électroacoustique, proposée par le Forum Autrichien, qui prouve
une fois de plus que l'Autriche a le bonheur de posséder une scène de jazz contemporain active et
mondialement reconnue.
